In short
- Use a review link rather than a file or a public upload.
- Add a password and an expiry date; leave downloads off.
- Turn on a watermark so every frame carries the viewer's email.
- Share one file, not the whole project, and revoke the link when the round is done.
What a private review link should do
- Play in the browser, with nothing to install and no account for the viewer.
- Ask for a password, if you set one.
- Stop working after a date you choose.
- Keep the file from being downloaded unless you allow it.
- Show a watermark with the viewer's email over the picture.
- Open just one file, or the whole project, as you decide.
- Stop working the moment you revoke it.
Set it up
- 1Choose Share on the file (its menu in the project), or share the whole project from the project page.
- 2Set a password and an expiry date, and decide whether reviewers can approve.
- 3Leave Downloads off unless the reviewer needs the file; turn the watermark on for anything sensitive.
- 4Copy the link and send it. Reviewers type a name and email and start reviewing.
Keep your team's notes private too
A review link shows the notes on the cut. Anything your team writes for itself can be marked team only: it never reaches anyone on a review link, in the room, the exports or the note counts.
Questions
Can people download a video from a review link?
Only if you turn downloads on for that link. They are off by default.
What happens when a link expires or is revoked?
It stops opening. Anyone who tries sees that the link has expired and is asked to get a new one from whoever sent it.
