The basics

What is post-prod.io?

post-prod.io is video review for creators, editors and clients. You upload a cut, people leave notes on the exact frame, and the editor takes those notes into the timeline as markers.

Who is it for?

YouTube creators and their editors, agencies, freelance editors, and anyone who signs off on a cut. Every plan has unlimited members and reviewers, so it suits teams that change size often.

Does it run in the browser?

Yes. post-prod.io runs in the browser. There are no mobile apps.

Does it use AI to write notes?

No. Notes come from the people reviewing (and from Retti, if you connect it). The checks for black flashes, media offline frames and clipped audio are plain measurements of the picture and sound. Uploads also get an AI pass that looks for on-screen typos, stock or trial watermarks, captions out of sync and text or faces cut off by the frame edge; it is capped, and its findings are marked as AI.

Notes and review

What kinds of notes can I leave?

A note on one exact frame, a note on a timestamped range, or a note on the whole cut. You can reply to notes, draw on the frame, and record voice notes that are turned into text.

What is a suggested edit?

A change a reviewer sets up so everyone can play it back before anyone touches the timeline: a cut, a zoom, a blur, swapping a shot for an image or clip, a speed change, an audio fix (mute, duck or louder), a text fix or a colour change. One Original/Suggested toggle shows the difference.

What happens to my notes if my browser crashes?

They are kept. Notes you were writing survive a browser crash or a dropped connection.

What do the automatic checks look for?

Black flashes, media offline frames and clipped audio, measured on every upload and free on every plan. An AI pass also looks for on-screen typos, trial watermarks, captions out of sync and things cut off by the frame edge.

Can I check framing for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes. Safe-zone overlays for TikTok, Reels and Shorts show where the app's captions and buttons will sit over your picture.

Are there keyboard shortcuts and different layouts?

Yes. There are keyboard shortcuts, and three layouts: Editor, Review and Focus.

Versions and approval

How do versions work?

Upload a new cut on top of the last one and versions stack as V1, V2 and so on. Notes carry across by matching the audio, so they land on the right moment even if the timing moved. V2 gets a summary of what was fixed.

Can I compare two versions?

Yes. Play two versions side by side, wipe between them, or use a difference view.

How does approval work?

Each version has a status: In review, Needs changes or Approved. On a share link you can turn approval on or off for the people using it.

Exports

Which editing apps can I send notes to?

Notes export as markers for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and Avid.

Can I export notes as a list?

Yes. Notes export as plain text, Markdown or CSV, each with its timecode.

How do I get the swap shots reviewers suggested?

Export them all as one zip. Each file is named by its timecode, so it is clear where it goes.

Does it integrate with Slack or other tools?

Not Slack yet. post-prod.io exports to the four editing apps above and as text, Markdown or CSV, and every plan has a REST API and an MCP server, so tools like Claude can read and add notes. If you use Retti, its Edit Review can add notes from real retention.

Plans and billing

How much does it cost?

Everyone starts on the free plan: 10 GB with every feature. Paid plans are not open yet. When they open they are priced per team: Creator $19 a month with 1 TB, Studio $49 a month with 3 TB, Agency $129 a month with 10 TB.

Do I pay per user?

No. One price per team. Members and reviewers are unlimited on every plan, and storage is the only thing that changes between plans.

When can I upgrade?

Paid plans open soon. Until then everyone uses the free plan, and nobody is asked for a card.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel your plan in one click.

Security and trust

Is it SOC 2 certified?

No. post-prod.io does not hold SOC 2 or other security certifications. If your organisation requires them, a tool such as Frame.io that states those certifications may suit you better.

Do you use my videos to train AI?

No. Your videos and notes are not used to train AI models. The privacy policy has the details.

Does it work with cameras on set?

No. post-prod.io has no camera-to-cloud upload. It starts when you have a cut to review.
