Video approval

Signed off. Without the chase.

Send one link. Clients review without an account and approve the version, and everyone can see where the cut stands.

In short

  • On post-prod.io each version has a status: In review, Needs changes or Approved.
  • Clients approve from a review link without an account, on any device, behind a password and expiry if you like.
  • Notes carry to the next version and V2 says what was fixed, so the approval is on the version that ships.

Updated

How it works

From first cut to approved.

One link

Clients open it. That's it.

No account and no app: a name and email, then they watch, leave notes and approve. Your logo and colour on the page, with password, expiry, download control and a watermark.

Guest review links

Versions

Approve the version, not a thread.

Upload V2 onto the same file. The notes move across by matching the audio, V2 says what was fixed, and the status starts again on the new version.

Versions and compare

Who and when

Nothing waits on a message.

Assign a note to the person who'll fix it and set a due date, so the approval isn't held up by a note nobody owned.

The flow

Approval in five steps.

  1. 1Upload the cut and make a review link, with a password and expiry if the cut is private.
  2. 2Send the link. Clients review without an account, on a computer or a phone.
  3. 3They leave notes on the frame, and the version is marked Needs changes.
  4. 4Upload V2 onto the same file: the notes come with it and V2 says what was fixed.
  5. 5The client marks V2 Approved. Render the final from the original if you made the fixes here.

Questions

Do clients need an account to approve?

No. They open the review link, add their name and email, and can leave notes and approve.

What statuses can a version have?

In review, Needs changes or Approved. Each version has its own, so the approval belongs to the cut that ships.

What happens to the notes on the next version?

They move to the new version by matching the audio, so they still land on the right moment after a trim, and the new version gets a summary of what was fixed.

Can I keep the cut private?

Yes. Review links can have a password, an expiry date, download control and a watermark, on every plan.

Do you do multi-step approval chains?

No. post-prod.io's approval is a status on each version. If you need approval chains or regulated sign-off, Kollaborate and Filestage list those on their pages.

Can I try post-prod.io before paying?

There's a sample video you can open and review the way a guest would, with notes on the frame, drawing and a suggested edit. Plans are $10 an admin a month.
